Tom, thanks for posting what was going on behind the scenes on this film. Really helps to understand the context and the challenges facing the director and the cast. I t also makes me think twice about criticizing a performance when I consider what the actors were up against.

Youth is not a time of life, it is a state of mind. You are as old as your doubt, your fear, your despair. The way to keep young is to keep your faith young. Keep your self confidence young. Keep your hope young.
The problem isn’t writers not knowing where the major plot arcs will go. Many TV series manage to handle that problem and pick up on threads and deeper issues and handle them brilliantly even with that constraint. It’s that with this series, nobody has bothered. There’s a lazy feeling about this that, when you think about the brilliance of Breaking Bad, Buffy, Arrested Development etc, I’m not surprised the series was cancelled. It was a limping beast that really never made the most of what it had to offer (it settles on being spy drama with a bit of sci-fi on the side at the end) and needed to be put down.

If Barack said anything less he would be again be painted as elitest because only they read the New Yorker (sorry Mr. Field. ha).Personally I’m more offended about the Iraq war than about this New Yorker cover.
