We want to send out a huge thank you and give public recognition to many people that supported our family in holding a benefit horse shoeing event at Horseshoe Park on April 28th.  My husband Jason Robinson was diagnosed with a rare form of Lymphoma cancer in March 2011.  He underwent treatment last year that resulted in a clean PET scan just before Christmas, but the PET scan this March showed that the cancer is back.  The only way to try to cure this cancer is heavy doses of chemotherapy with a stem cell transplant.  Jason has been a farrier in the East Valley for 13 years and we have 3 young children.  Jason will be out of work for at least a year, so the farriers  in the East Valley collaborated together to take care of Jason’s clientele.  In doing so they organized with Tim Lynch at Horseshoe Park in Queen Creek to donate their facility for this event and events to come.  Two local farrier supply stores – Scottsdale Farrier Supply and R and K Farrier Supply donated all of the shoeing supplies.   Debbie Hill contacted all of Jason’s clients, which were receptive  to the idea of bringing their horses to this facility every 6-7 weeks to have them shod or trimmed by professional horseshoers to support Jason and our family.  In a matter of 2 weeks their idea became real. The 9 farriers able to participate were Bobby Waters, Charlie Hill, Kirk Haspel, Trey Iannella, Mark Fisher, Robert Boltz, Tim Baker, Mike Donahue, and Dally Curtis flew in from Texas.  The farriers set up their stations and approximately 40 head of horses filtered in between the hours of 7am to noon.  There were clients and friends that stopped by without their horses.  The Olive Garden in Queen Creek donated lunch for this event.  Tom Deckard took pictures and video footage to share with us.  At the end of the day all of the proceeds were donated to our family.  It has been overwhelming to our family to have such support from so many people.  Not to mention the time taken out of their schedules and away from their own families.  We want to extend our gratitude, more than words can even say.  They plan to continue this event until Jason is well enough to shoe again, the next one is scheduled on June 16th.  Our hope is to one day pay it forward.  God bless all of you, The Robinson’s.
